SeaPort Airlines quits namesake routeThe News Tribune 2012-02-14 20:19:02SeaPort Airlines, a Portland-based feeder airline which specializes in connecting smaller communities to airline hubs, has quit flying its namesake route between Seattle and Portland. The airline, which operates single-engine turboprop aircraft, once had as many as nine daily flights between Seattle's Boeing Field and Portland. The airline said it couldn't make money in the face of competition on the route from Alaska Airlines and United/Continental Airlines. Those two carriers combined fly 62 daily flights between Portland International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
